Spirit Airlines To End Service in 12 Cities in Latest Network Shakeup

Spirit Airlines has announced that it is discontinuing service to 12 cities across the country, effective October 2, 2025. The announced closures follow Sprit's second bankruptcy filing in less than a year and is no-doubt part of a new restructuring plan.

Spirit will terminate flights to the following destinations:

• Albuquerque, New Mexico

• Birmingham, Alabama

• Boise, Idaho

• Chattanooga, Tennessee

• Columbia, South Carolina

• Oakland, California

• Portland, Oregon

• Sacramento, California

• Salt Lake City, Utah

• San Diego, California

• San Jose, California

• Macon, Georgia (Cancelled Planned Launch)

Spirit has cancelled plans to launch its service to Macon, Georgia, which was scheduled to begin in Mid-October.
